Parish Finance Council

The Parish Finance Council is a consultative body of qualified laypersons required by Canon Law to advise the Pastor on the financial affairs of the parish. While the Pastor retains authority over parish administration under Canon Law, the Council provides expertise, guidance, and recommendations in a spirit of collaboration and support.

As stated in Canon 537, every parish is to have a Finance Council to assist the Pastor in the administration of parish goods. The Council serves in an advisory role, with its recommendations taking effect only upon the Pastor's acceptance. Guided by the Gospel, the Council is committed to faithful stewardship, sound financial management, integrity, and responsible business practices.
